GMAT Focus pacing: how to control time in every section
On the GMAT Focus, bad time management costs more points than weak content. Each section gives you 45 minutes for 21 questions (20 in Data Insights).
Checkpoints that work
- Question 7: 15 minutes maximum.
- Question 14: 30 minutes maximum.
- Question 21: the full 45 minutes.
When you fall behind
- Pick the next long question and take a deliberate strategic guess.
- Never speed up across the board: errors cascade.
- Log the guess so you know whether pacing is really a content issue.
